About Follitropin alfa
Follitropin alfa is a fertility medication containing recombinant human Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) used to stimulate egg development in infertile women and sperm production in infertile men, often alongside other hormones like hCG, primarily for assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like IVF or to induce ovulation.
It mimics natural FSH, stimulating the growth of ovarian follicles (containing eggs) in women and spermatogenesis (sperm production) in men.
